Who Is Dan Bilzerian?
Dan Bilzerian is an Armenian-American poker player, social media celebrity and businessman. He was born in Tampa, Florida on December 7th 1980 to parents Paul Bilzerian and Terri Steffen. His brother, Adam Bilzerian, is also a poker player.
Dan Bilzerian has always had a life filled with money, since his father was a corporate raider on Wall Street, and provided both Dan and his brother Adam with trust funds. It’s not clear if he used some of his trust fund money to fund his poker playing career, but there are claims he has bet large sums of money.
How Did Dan Bilzerian Get Rich?
As previously mentioned, Dan Bilzerian inherited a large sum of money from his father via a trust fund (the details of which remain relatively scarce), however, he has also earned himself large sums of money via his poker playing career and other business ventures. In fact, there’s no denying Dan Bilzerian has a pretty decent ‘business brain’ on him.
Poker Playing Career
According to Casino.org, Dan Bilzerian can’t actually be considered a professional poker player, despite bragging about the tens of millions of dollars he’s won from playing various private games.
It’s claimed he first tried his hand at poker after he enrolled in university at the University of Florida to study Business and Criminology. However, it is unclear if he ever actually graduated.
That could well be because he spent all his time playing poker instead, and it’s claimed by his second year of university, that he’d lost practically everything (and didn’t yet have access to his trust fund).
His fortune is alleged to have turned in his favour after a short while, however, with Casino.org adding that Dan claims he would make as much as $90,000 from playing poker during some playing weeks.
It wasn’t until 2017 that Dan Bilzerian began playing in poker games with higher stakes, and it’s claimed he once turned up to a poker game in Lake Tahoe with a suitcase containing $100,000.
More recently, Dan Bilzerian was signed by the online poker site GGPoker to be an ambassador for the brand. Naturally, as with pretty much anything Dan Bilzerian does or puts his name to, there was some backlash from the poker community.
However, even with some rather insulting comebacks from Dan Bilzerian in response to the comments, GGPoker have maintained their contract.
His Vape Company
Ignite, a vape company, made over 100 million sales as of 2022. He was once accused of partying away the funds of the company amidst a $50M loss, but it was rectified by the board of managers. The products from the company have expanded to UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain, skyrocketing the sales of the company.
Dan Bilzerian Book – The Setup
Dan Bilzerian can also be considered an author, as he has published his own book; The Setup. The book is a memoir filled with “wild stories (and even wilder photos).”
The book takes through you all of Dan’s most memorable moments, from childhood all the way through to the high-profile status he enjoys today, including his time serving in the military, his passion for guns and, of course, gambling. Oh, and girls.
Other Interests
His Many Many Female Friends
Perhaps the topic area that is most commonly associated with Dan Bilzerian is the women he surrounds himself with.
Just one quick look at his Instagram page and it becomes immediately apparent that Dan is never far from a bevy of beautiful women.
And, owing up to his ‘look at me’ lifestyle, Dan has been more than happy to brag about his evening escapades.
The Many Guns Of Dan Bilzerian
Dan Bilzerian is also a fan of variousweaponsandguns, boasting a serious collection, and it’s this rather lavish, carefree way of living (topped off with nice ‘shiny things’)that keeps him single.
Dan’s Weird Cars
What playboy lifestyle would be complete without a collection of rare, expensive and exotic cars? Dan knows this all too well, and so using his immense wealth, he has secured himself some incredible cars.
One such motor that’s parked on his driveway includes a 3/4 replica of the 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. At $108,000, it’s certainly not cheap, but it’s pocket change compared to the money Supercar Blondie has spent on her cars, for example.
Dan’s Fitness Routine
There is also no denying Dan Bilzerian knows how to keep himself in good shape, and he often posts his workouts to his Instagram feed. These have previously included skipping, which you may think, for a man of Dan’s size is a bit peculiar, but skipping is hands down one of the best (and free) exercises you can go.
Other feats of fitness have included an entitled workout on asuperyacht, and even a workout whilst he spent some time in a hotel, proving you’re never too far from a set of weights.
Dan also appears to be a fan of a range of recovery methods, such as takingice bathsand smoking weed.
He knows how to get publicity, landing himself a brief cameo role in a movie (so is now referred to as an actor), and with several million dollars worth of poker winnings, he knows how to gamble too.
He’s a constant source of news and intrigue, and we’d wager that those who aren’t his biggest fans are just jealous of his wild playboy lifestyle.
Relaxation and Recreation
The playboy, Dan, spent the quarter of the year’s vacation cave diving at Sri Panwa, enjoying a two-month break since July that culminated in September with cave diving.
In October 2021, he co-piloted a plane, acknowledging that despite his wealth, money alone doesn’t bring happiness. His advice to 20-year-olds is to “try everything.” Between 2021 and 2024, he had visited Thailand/Dubai, Europe/Vegas, Ireland/Maldives, France/Mykonos, Brazil/Africa with his entourage of multiple women.
Dan’s Dream
He fulfilled his childhood long dream of visiting an African safari – a zoo with zebras, ostriches, elephants, and other beautiful wild animals. He lamented the hunting of wildlife for personal reasons, which was leading to the extinction of some species. The socialite, Dan Bilzerian, stated weed was addictive, which may suggest that he is addicted to weed or it may be an advert for his vape company, Ignite.
What is Dan Bilzerian’s Net Worth?
Dan Bilzerian’s net worth is estimated to be $200 million USD.
Dan’s Marital Status
Further, he posted himself with a woman walking down the aisle, tagged “I finally did it.” This suggested marriage to all and sundry until a totally contrasting Instagram post 3 weeks later where he stated “marriage is a trap, stay single and smoke.” It could be an advert for his vape company or he was genuinely not married.
Dan Bilzerian in 2024 now states that he prefers monogamy to his current lifestyle.
Dan Bilzerian Politics
In 2015, Bilzerian announced that he was running to become President of the United States. This was abandoned shortly afterwards.
In 2016, Bilzerian came out as a staunch supporter of then-presidential candidate, Donald J. Trump, praising his pro-gun stance and “unfiltered” speaking style.
Dan Bilzerian Controversies
Bilzerian Lawsuit Over Lone Survivor Film
In 2014, Bilzerian filed a lawsuit against the producers of the film Lone Survivor, claiming that his role – for which he “invested” over $ 1 million USD – was reduced from eight minutes of screen time and 80 words of dialogue to less than one minute and one line.
He demanded $1.2 million in compensation, but the lawsuit was later dropped. Bilzerian reportedly made $1.5 million from the film’s commercial success.
Miami Nightclub Incident
Bilzerian was banned from a Miami nightclub in August 2014 after he kicked model Vanessa Castano in the face during a brawl.
Bilzerian claimed that Castano and another woman had attacked his female companion. Castano later filed a lawsuit against Bilzerian for her injuries, and she asked for $1 million to settle the case.
Legal Matter With Janice Griffith
Bilzerian was involved in a legal matter with Janice Griffith in 2014. During a photoshoot for Hustler magazine, Bilzerian threw Griffith off a roof and into a pool, causing her to hit the edge and break her foot.
Griffith asked for $85,000 in compensation, but her request was rejected. She later filed a lawsuit against both Hustler and Bilzerian, and Bilzerian’s attorney argued that he was not at fault.
Arrest At Los Angeles International Airport
On December 9, 2014, Bilzerian was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on bomb-making charges. He was booked at the LAPD’s Pacific Division and charged with violating a law that makes it illegal to possess an explosive or incendiary device with the intent to manufacture it.
He was released on the day of his arrest, but he was scheduled to be arraigned in Clark County, Nevada, in January 2015. In February 2015, he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanour charge of negligently failing to extinguish a fire in the open and was fined over $17,000.
Ignite Lawsuit
Former Ignite president Curtis Heffernan sued Bilzerian for wrongful termination in July 2020.
He claimed that he was fired for criticising Bilzerian’s use of company funds to support his extravagant lifestyle.
Dan Bilzerian Watch Theft
In 2021, Bilzerian claimed in an interview that he had a $1 million watch “stolen off his wrist” while attending a much-publicised boxing match between super middleweights Canelo Álvarez vs. Caleb Plant.
At the time, the media took these claims fairly seriously – but after a clip of the interview made its way to TikTok, social media users have questioned Bilzerian’s account.
Seeing as Bilzerian owed a serious amount of money to investors at the time, many have suggested that he might have set up the theft to claim the insurance on it. Others have suggested he was just renting the watch.
Regardless of whether or not you believe Bilzerian’s watch got stolen, it is true that he has a rather insane watch collection. In fact, this is a man who (apparently) buys so many watchesthat he ‘accidentally’ bought the same watch twice.
The ‘Instagram King’ got most of his fame, and a significant portion of his money from going viral on social media platforms, especially Instagram, so many times. But in 2022, the frequency of his postings reduced, and his last post is currently from September 2023, which means he has gone almost seven months without posting on Instagram,
On an episode of The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast, Bilzerian revealed that he got bored of social media because everyone was doing the same thing, it felt like a game to him, and he no longer wanted to be a part of that. He also said that he was always a private person and preferred life without social media. Good for him.
Naturally, many have claimed that his absence is due to financial issues and his inability to keep up with the facade of a flash lifestyle, but all of that is unconfirmed.
He is only a bit more active on his X (formerly Twitter) account, where he has 1.5 million followers.
